Microsoft adds Word, Excel and PowerPoint to its Copilot app

After years of embedding Copilot in Office, Microsoft is reversing that approach, according to Neowin. The Information reports that customers complained in summer 2025 about bugs and weak Excel and PowerPoint automation. In response, Charles Lamanna proposed to CEO Satya Nadella that Microsoft consider paying for Anthropic models to improve Copilot, according to The Information.
