OpenAI closes ChatGPT accounts linked to Russian and Iranian influence operations

According to The Record, OpenAI’s safety team identified a Russian-run propaganda operation targeting Latin America and Iranian accounts posing as journalists. The Washington Post reports that OpenAI said ChatGPT users in Iran created more than 100 fake articles that appeared across at least 20 news outlets.
