Ring introduces its first smart lock with a backup power dial
Turning the dial supplies temporary power if the lock's battery runs out, addressing the risk of being locked out of the home. According to The Verge, the device uses a rechargeable battery and removes the need for a physical backup key when that battery dies while the owner is away.
