Intel Nova Lake desktop CPUs may face a 5.1 GHz cap above 90°C

First reported by Wccftech at · Updated · 3 sources

Leaker Jaykihn claims Intel's next-generation desktop processors would restrict clock speeds once core temperatures exceed 90°C. Wccftech reports that the proposed restriction would introduce a temperature-based limit before a 100°C thermal ceiling, potentially making cooling more important for higher-end models in the upcoming Core Ultra 4000 series.

  • PCMag says the leak suggests greater temperature sensitivity than Intel Core 200, Core 300 and Ryzen 9000.
