Google and partners shut down XCPE botnet targeting Android TV boxes

The botnet ran on more than 1.3 million Android TV boxes, according to The Next Web, which reports Google's allegation that the manufacturer deliberately installed the malware. The Record reports that Google also found infections in other Android-based connected equipment, including telehealth devices, karaoke machines and digital signage.
