Apple buys Ascend.io, expanding its AI data management holdings

Ascend.io developed tools for automating business data collection and analysis, later adding AI agents to help engineers manage that data, according to MacRumors. The acquisition appeared in a European Commission notice. PYMNTS reports that the June deal includes rights to hire certain employees and a non-exclusive license to the company's intellectual property.
