Wccftech describes S-Game's title as a contender for 2026 game of the year, while MobileSyrup compares it with Bloodborne, Pokémon Gold and Clair Obscur 33. According to Wccftech, the China-based studio previously worked on smaller indie and mobile games. The publication says Phantom Blade Zero was announced during the May 2023 PlayStation Showcase.
