A video demonstrates Shortcuts running automations when the phone opens or closes. According to MacRumors, YouTuber Stephen Robles highlighted the trigger, named "Opened or Closed," in the Display automations category. One possible use is setting the phone to lock automatically when folded shut, according to 9to5Mac.
