Nvidia reports 104-qubit quantum simulation on JUPITER

First reported by Nvidia at · Updated · 2 sources

The run used 8,192 Nvidia GH200 GPUs at Jülich Supercomputing Centre, according to Unite.AI. Nvidia says the simulation allowed researchers to explore and validate magic state cultivation, an approach to fault-tolerant quantum computing that it says requires 90% fewer qubits than previous methods, on Europe’s first exascale supercomputer.

  • Nvidia described the run as a record-breaking simulation.
