Anthropic says Claude identified the source of NIST cryptographic seeds

First reported by Unite.AI at · Updated · 2 sources

The internal research model linked the seeds to the C library's lrand48 random-number generator initialized with Unix timestamps, according to Unite.AI. The findings cover five prime-curve seeds, but several curve parameters remain unexplained, RuntimeWire reports. Unite.AI says the work addresses a provenance question dating to the NSA supplying the values without explanation.
