GlobalFoundries reaches construction milestone on €1.1 billion Dresden expansion

The SPRINT project is expected to raise Dresden’s annual capacity above 1 million wafers by 2028, according to RuntimeWire. GlobalFoundries also announced FDX Fusion, a chip platform for Physical AI planned for development and manufacturing at the site, according to Unite.AI. RuntimeWire reports that development requires German federal approval.
