Bitdefender finds ad-fraud malware preinstalled on thousands of Android phones
Some low-cost Android phones arrive with malware already installed, rather than acquiring it after purchase. According to The Record, Bitdefender researchers said the ad-fraud software is present before owners first switch on their devices and cannot be uninstalled, leaving buyers without a way to remove it.
