Hackers access 400,000 Georgia Power and Alabama Power accounts

Southern Company is notifying customers that hackers accessed their utility account information, according to SecurityWeek. Quartz reports that the intrusion involved Georgia Power's online customer portal and exposed customer names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and partial Social Security numbers among the information accessed by the attackers.
