Former engineer gets 32 months in prison for employer network attack

The former employee locked thousands of devices at an industrial company headquartered in New Jersey in a ransomware-style attack, according to BleepingComputer. Cyber Security News identifies him as Daniel Rhyne, 59, of Kansas City, Missouri, and reports that he demanded a cryptocurrency ransom after sabotaging his employer’s Windows network.
