OpenAI is rolling out invisible watermarks for EU ChatGPT and Codex output

The rollout covers eligible text and code generated in the European Union, where AI transparency rules require machine-readable identification of generated text. API customers worldwide can opt in to watermarking, according to Unite.AI, while The New Stack reports that the feature is switched off by default for developers.
